In this video I go over how to carve your beard's neck- and cheek-lines, to keep things looking fresh and intentional. I would recommend not doing these until your beard has a decent amount of growth; depending on how fast your beard grows, this could be one month, two, or even more. At the time of this recording, my beard is at about 3 months and 8 days of growth and had been lined maybe twice previously, roughly 3 weeks ago being the last line-up.

While not featured in this video, for those that need the additional help and don't want to free-hand their line up, the Cut Buddy is a good option. I've personally never used this, but I do hear good things about it. It seems to also come with a barber pencil so that you can draw out your line to more easily trim your beard. The Cut Buddy:
